Mt Evelyn Junior Football club

The Mt Evelyn Junior football club is experiencing one of its best participation stages in the clubs history. In previous years the junior club was comprised of 10’s 12’s and 14’s with the 16’s being a part of the Senior club. In the 1960’s the junior club was affiliated with the Croydon/ Ferntree Gully Football League, and the Yarra Valley Junior Boys Association until 1979. In 1980 the YVJBA merged with the Eastern District Football League/ Eastern Football League ( EDFL/EFL).

In 2002 the Junior club left the Eastern Football League and re affiliated with the Dandenong Ranges Junior Football League ( DRJFL).

In 2004 an Under 11’s Team was added,

In 2005 an Under 13’s Team was added,

In 2006 the Under 13’s won a Junior Premiership and although the DRJFL didn’t have an under 15’s Competition, the club was able to negotiate with the Lilydale Football Club and the EFL, to register Mt Evelyn Under 15’s players to play for Lilydale as the Under 15’s blues. All the players then returned next Season to play for Mt Evelyn Under 16’s.

In 2007 an Under 15’s Team was added to the Mt Evelyn team list.

In 2010 the Junior Club won the prestigious Best Conducted Club award in the DRJFL.
